Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Quathos Monitor, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.

2. The Service

Quathos Monitor is a domain monitoring service, with managed authoritative DNS included in the same plan for whoever wants it. Monitoring reads data your domain already publishes — DNS records, registration data (RDAP), Certificate Transparency logs and the TLS certificate — and notifies you of changes; before we watch a domain, you must prove control of it by publishing a TXT record we indicate. For the DNS part, you delegate your domain’s nameservers to ns1.qflaryx.com and ns2.qflaryx.com, and the platform hosts your zones, answers DNS queries for your records, signs zones with DNSSEC when you enable it, shows query analytics, and exposes an API authenticated by API keys. Features, plans, and limits may change as the product evolves.

You remain responsible for your domain registration itself — registering, renewing, and configuring the delegation at your registrar. Quathos Monitor is not a registrar.

3. Accounts and organizations

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials and API keys confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and within your organization, including the zones and records it publishes. Data is isolated per organization.

4. Acceptable use

DNS is infrastructure, and abusive infrastructure hurts everyone downstream. You agree not to use the Service to:

• Support phishing, or host DNS for domains used to impersonate other people or organizations.
• Operate malware command-and-control, botnets, or DNS tunneling for malicious purposes.
• Support the sending of spam or provide DNS for spam operations.
• Publish records for content or services that infringe intellectual property or other rights, or that are otherwise unlawful.
• Attempt to break organization isolation, access other customers’ data, or probe the Service’s security without authorization.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including abusive query patterns against our infrastructure.

5. Plans, limits, and fees

Each plan sets limits — such as the number of zones per organization and records per zone — shown in the Service. Paid plans, prices, and limits shown during development may be placeholders and are subject to change. Where fees apply, we bill them under the plan you select.

The Free plan is free and is enough to run real zones, and we intend to keep it permanent. That said, we may change its limits or discontinue it with 60 days notice; in that case you will be able to export your zones in BIND format before the change takes effect.

When we offer a trial of a paid plan, it applies to the plan stated in the offer and is available once per organization. At the end of the trial, the organization returns to the Free plan unless a paid plan is purchased.

If you exceed the limits of your plan, we may ask you to upgrade or reduce usage; we will not silently break your zones over a limit.

6. Your DNS data

You keep all rights to the zones and records you create. You grant Quathos LLC the limited rights needed to host, process, and serve them, solely to provide the Service.

Remember that records you publish are answered to any resolver that asks: publishing a record through Quathos Monitor makes it public by the nature of DNS. You are responsible for what your organization chooses to publish.

7. Intellectual property

Quathos Monitor, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by Quathos LLC. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right to use the Service. They transfer no ownership in the platform.

8. API and API keys

The API is part of the Service and is subject to these Terms, including the acceptable-use rules and plan limits. API keys identify your organization: keep them secret, rotate them if exposed, and do not embed them where third parties can read them. We may apply rate limits to protect the platform.

9. Service levels

An SLA (service level agreement) applies only on the plans that include one, under the terms stated for that plan. On plans without an SLA, we operate the Service with care but make no availability commitment. Nameserver operation is redundant by design, but DNS also depends on systems outside our control — including your registrar and the parent zone’s delegation.

10. Cancellation and export

You may stop using the Service at any time. There is no lock-in: you can export each of your zones in standard BIND format at any moment, including before canceling, and load them onto any other DNS provider. After cancellation, remember to update the delegation at your registrar — while your domain still points to our nameservers and the zone no longer exists here, resolution for your domain will fail.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms — in particular the acceptable-use rules — or that poses a security or legal risk. For DNS abuse such as phishing or malware command-and-control, suspension may be immediate, because ongoing harm to third parties does not wait for notice periods. Where reasonable, we will notify you and give you a chance to remedy. Certain provisions survive termination.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, except as expressly stated in an SLA that applies to your plan.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quathos LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service — including the consequences of DNS resolution failures for your domains.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws that apply to Quathos LLC in the State of Texas, United States. This does not override the mandatory consumer or data-protection rules of your place of residence.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
